About

10 Things To Know About Me

1- I am not the cliche therapist you often see on TV/movies (cringe). 2- I don't believe therapy is one size fits all, so I adjust my approach to meet my client's needs/goals. 3- I know what it's like to be the client. I believe highly effective therapists do or have done their own therapy. 4- The most consistent feedback I get from clients is that I'm compassionate and caring, but I also have a great BS detector and I'm not afraid to use it! 5- Because I grew up in NE Philly (Go Birds!), many would describe me as assertive, but I prefer "feisty." I am an exceptionally good match for those that struggle with people-pleasing, inability to set and uphold boundaries, or overall passivity. 6-Laughter and humor is often undervalued in therapy. If we can laugh together, that is a sign of trust and that we are doing good work. I'm also in my own IDGAF era, and I've never felt so free! 7- I believe humans have an innate desire to be seen and understood by others. 8-I have over 10 years experience treating substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, life changes, relationships, trauma, and infertility/pregnancy loss. 9- I work with clients 18+, I especially LOVE working with my twentysomething clients! 10-I'm passionate about mentoring the next generation of therapists, including 100+ hrs of training and 8+ yrs of supervisory experience, by providing clinical supervision to those pursing PA LCSW/LPC licensure. BONUS: I'm trained in EMDR
